I was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai‘i and grew up in a predominantly Japanese household. I speak fluent English and Japanese and have strong connections to both my local and Japanese roots.
In school, I have been fortunate to have editorial work experience from working at Ka Leo O Hawai‘i, the campus newspaper, since 2015 and as the current Creative Director. I have recently also been able to work on professional projects such as rebranding the Hawai‘i Labor Relations Board through my classes at UH.
